You've thought for months, maybe even years about writing your book. You've said "I'll get to it" but haven't been making real progress. You started a draft and your characters feel more like caricatures than actual people. Your plot feels like it's falling apart and you question if anyone will actually read your story. But, you have this burning desire to write. It won't leave you alone. You want to share a story that will resonate with people and bring them the same hope you've found. You know you are called to do this. Yet it feels overwhelming to get your story out there. If this has been you, then this challenge is just what you need. Join me for the Forging Powerful Fiction challenge August 18th-21st. During this challenge I am going to give you the foundations and building blocks to transform your book idea into an engaging story readers can't get enough of. We'll be discussing everything from plot development to character arcs and scene structure. I'm also going to share some of the mistakes first time authors make when publishing their first book and how to avoid them. If you're ready to get off the someday track with your writing, click the link below to sign up.
Hi, I'm Desireé! Since 2020 I have written and published 11 fiction, nonfiction, and fantasy works. I served as a chapter leader for KWA for two years where I inspired and equipped many Kingdom writers to start and finish their writing projects. Following this passion, I founded Stories of Glory Publishing and Scribal Champion LLC. In April 2026, I was a finalist for the Kingdom Book Awards for Art and Ministry and received honorable mention for my writing and coaching. I am running this challenge to help writers get their stories out of their head and onto paper.
What we'll discuss during this challenge:
Day 1: Honing your message and understanding genre expectations
Day 2: Creating realistic characters and using conflict to drive your story
Day 3: Building a believable world to immerse readers in
Day 4: Plotting your story and building scenes/chapters
